Carolyn Normile

Carolyn grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She played every sport in the book as a kid but never really stuck with one until she chose volleyball in middle school. She played volleyball throughout middle school and high school. Carolyn picked up ultimate in her first year of high school because she wanted to try something new. She played volleyball as a fall sport and ultimate as a spring sport for four years.

Growing up, Carolyn was always into math and science. She took AP Physics Mechanics in high school and decided she wanted to be a mechanical engineer from that class.

Ultimate isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of life. My closest friends play ultimate. I have traveled to other countries because of ultimate, become more aware of gender, race and mental health issues because of ultimate and am a better person because of ultimate.
